Case Actions
The Actions panel on case detail lets you run predefined operations on a case — status changes, HATS procedures, form generation, and more.
Open the actions panel
- Open a case from Cases.
- Look for the Actions button or dropdown in the case header.
- Click to expand available actions.
Actions shown depend on:
- Current case status
- Your role and vendor permissions
- Configured HATS procedures
Common action types
| Action type | Description |
|---|---|
| Status changes | Close case, withdraw, mark ineligible, etc. |
| HATS procedures | Run multi-step automated workflows |
| Generate form | Create PDF/forms from templates |
| Task pickup | Claim or advance HATS tasks on the case |
| Refresh / sync | Reload case data from source systems |
Run a case action
- Open the Actions menu.
- Select the action (e.g., Close case).
- Read any confirmation dialog carefully.
- Provide required fields if prompted.
- Confirm to execute.
Some actions cannot be undone. Check notes and status after running an action.
Run a HATS procedure
- From Actions, choose Run procedure (or select a named procedure).
- Pick the procedure from the list of runnable procedures for this case.
- Confirm execution.
- Monitor progress on the case Tasks tab.
See Tasks and Procedures.
Generate a form
- Select Generate form from Actions.
- Choose a form template from the catalog.
- Complete any required fields in the modal.
- Generate and download the resulting document.
Confirmations
Destructive actions (close, withdraw, delete-related operations) show a confirmation modal. You must explicitly confirm before the action runs.
Permissions
- Org admins and org users typically have the broadest action access on Higbee cases.
- Vendor users see actions permitted for their vendor.
- Case users generally cannot run administrative actions.
If an action is missing, your role or case state may not allow it.
