Case Files

The Files tab on case detail stores client documents, court filings, and supporting materials.

View files

  1. Open a case.
  2. Click the Files tab.
  3. Files display in a list or grid with name, date, privacy level, and tags.

Click a file to preview or download when supported.

Upload a file

  1. On the Files tab, locate the Upload panel.
  2. Click Choose file or drag a file into the upload area.
  3. Set privacy level (controls who can see the file).
  4. Optionally add file tags/labels from the catalog.
  5. Click Upload.

Wait for the upload to complete before navigating away.

Supported considerations

  • Large files may take longer to upload.
  • Use descriptive filenames before uploading when possible.
  • Select the correct privacy level — this affects vendor and client visibility.

File tags

When file labels are enabled:

  1. During upload, use the tags multi-select.
  2. Choose labels that describe document type (e.g., ID, court order, correspondence).
  3. Tags help staff find documents quickly.

Edit file metadata

If you have permission:

  1. Open the file row actions.
  2. Update tags or privacy level.
  3. Save changes.

Delete a file

  1. Open file actions.
  2. Select Delete.
  3. Confirm — deletion is typically permanent.

Download files

Click the download icon or filename link to save a copy to your device.

Client users

Case Users (client_user) can upload files to their assigned cases when upload is enabled. See Case User Guide.
