HATS Automations
Automations trigger HATS procedures or notifications when defined conditions are met. Configuration is org admin only.
Open automations
- Expand Settings in the sidebar.
- Click Automations (
/hats/automations).
Automation list
Browse configured automations with name, trigger type, and active status.
Create or edit an automation
- Click New automation or open an existing row.
- Navigate to automation detail (
/hats/automations/[id]). - Configure:
- Trigger — Event or condition that starts the automation
- Procedure — Which procedure to run
- Filters — Case state, vendor, labels, or other criteria
- Active flag — Enable or disable without deleting
- Save the automation.
Test automations
- Disable the automation initially while configuring.
- Trigger the condition on a test case in a controlled environment.
- Verify tasks appear in Tasks and procedure steps execute correctly.
- Enable for production when validated.
Monitor
- Review Tasks for automation-generated work items.
- Check case Tasks tab for case-specific automation output.
- Disable misbehaving automations immediately and fix configuration.
