HATS Automations

Automations trigger HATS procedures or notifications when defined conditions are met. Configuration is org admin only.

Open automations

  1. Expand Settings in the sidebar.
  2. Click Automations (/hats/automations).

Automation list

Browse configured automations with name, trigger type, and active status.

Create or edit an automation

  1. Click New automation or open an existing row.
  2. Navigate to automation detail (/hats/automations/[id]).
  3. Configure:
    • Trigger — Event or condition that starts the automation
    • Procedure — Which procedure to run
    • Filters — Case state, vendor, labels, or other criteria
    • Active flag — Enable or disable without deleting
  4. Save the automation.

Test automations

  1. Disable the automation initially while configuring.
  2. Trigger the condition on a test case in a controlled environment.
  3. Verify tasks appear in Tasks and procedure steps execute correctly.
  4. Enable for production when validated.

Monitor

  • Review Tasks for automation-generated work items.
  • Check case Tasks tab for case-specific automation output.
  • Disable misbehaving automations immediately and fix configuration.
